From the recording Sometimes the Characters...
My tribute to my favorite photograph, "The Homecoming", by Marc Trautman. It always reminds me to give flowers while people are still alive. I wrote this in a hotel room in Sea Isle City, NJ. with cousins chiming in on the chorus.

Lyrics
Train On The Tracks
(© 1992 Don McAvoy, MMP, Inc., ASCAP )
* The train's on the tracks and I'm ready, ready to go
The train's on the tracks and I'm ready, ready to go
Better call ahead and tell 'em I'm coming home
* The wind whispers directions that I'm gonna, I'm gonna follow
The wind whispers directions that I'm gonna, I'm gonna follow
Better call ahead and tell 'em I'm coming home
*** I'm coming home, I'm coming home, I'm coming home to you
I'm coming home, I'm coming home, I'm coming home to you
The train's on the tracks and I'm coming back
Babe, you know how I feel about you
The train's on the tracks and I'm coming back
Babe, you know how I feel about you
* I want your kiss on my lips and I'm ready, I'm ready to go
I want your kiss on my lips and I'm ready, I'm ready to go
Better call ahead and tell 'em I'm coming home
* You know this train's on the tracks and I'm coming, I'm coming on home
You know this train's on the tracks and I'm coming, I'm coming on home
Better call ahead and tell 'em I'm coming home
